A Monk Parakeet basking in the sunlight and preening those beautiful feathers. Native to South America, there are a few populations of them throughout the United States. Also called Quaker Parrots or Monk Parrots, they are the only member of the Parrot family to nest communally and also the only ones to build multi-family stick nests.
