Description
Longs Peak is one of the 54 mountains with summits over 14,000 feet in Colorado. Long's is the only "fourteener" in Rocky Mountain National Park, and the most popular with climbers. The East Face of the mountain as seen in this image is quite very steep, and is surmounted by a gigantic sheer cliff known as "The Diamond" named because of its shape, approximately that of a cut diamond. Trails that ascend Longs Peak include the East Longs Peak Trail, the Longs Peak Trail, the Keyhole Route, Clark's Arrow and the Shelf Trail.
